Love Knows No Hierarchy

Love Knows No Hierarchy

Open Your Heart and Listen to its Song.

Each one of us was born for a reason and though, in this illusionary society, we may have created hierarchy to function as a civilization, there is no such thing in the Spiritual Realm. People who walk around telling others they are enlightened and thus wanting to be worshiped as “gods” are too blinded by their own ego to be considered “enlightened”.

Enlightening is just a process equivalent to that of a seed. First you are underground and have to struggle to survive to reach the light. Breaking the dirt to finally free yourself from darkness and sprouting into a beautiful green plant, is also another stage of the process. Evolution is infinite just like our existence. A plant would never ask other seeds to be worshiped because it managed to free itself before other seeds. However, it is there, for others to see that the only way possible is the way up. Not down, not around, up and up.

It doesn’t matter how many times you fall, what matters the most is that you get up every single time and do your best with whatever you have at your disposal. Never ever lose faith. Remember that whatever stage you are at, it is just a temporary stage because

We are all scared and insecure and at times even feel as if we had been abandoned by the rest of the Universe. Nobody gets abandoned. Never. No matter the circumstances and even if you feel unloving and undeserving or you are ashamed of the choices that you have made so far, keep looking up and fill your heart with hope and joy because this temporary suffering will not last forever.

Many are not aware of the big changes humanity has been going through in the past few years. Are you feeling more tired than usual? Hopeless? Do you feel as if you didn’t have a purpose in this existence? Does everything seem superficial to you?

Immortality is not a condition of the carnal body, it is related to the soul. Feel your life and live each day as if it was your last and if you think you haven’t done a good job with yourself, then start changing right here and right now.

The big bubble is about to explode but not the way you expect it to, all secrets will be revealed and those who have concealed their hatred for so long will not be able to stand the powerful Light which is going to shine upon us all.

There is no such thing. Love is unconditional and it’s there for all of us. Give it and take what you need. Even the seed that buried itself deeper in the ground can and will find its way up. Never lose hope and never give up on yourself.

What can we do now? Start with small things. Take care of yourself first and then help others taking care of themselves if you can. Start sharing everything you have and remember to live each day as if it were your last – open your heart to everybody and everybody will open their heart to you.

The Source of Happiness is Within You.

Be Love itself!

I Love You

The Joy of Cooking

The Joy of Cooking

Take your health in your own hands

Some people believe that cooking is a waste of time or an activity for bored homemakers. Wrong! Cooking is an act of self nourishing and caring which will save  your life. Why? Because, first of all you get to choose the ingredients you want to cook and if you love yourself enough, you’ll get the most natural, fresh and nutritious food available. Some people may argue that such food is expensive but it shouldn’t be. Locally grown vegetables, fruit and grains free of pesticides, fertilizers and other nasty chemicals should actually cost less, not more, exactly because they are grown without adding any additional cost. Go straight to those who grow food and if you can’t find any, grow your own. Your only investment should be a blender and a juicer if you really want to switch to a very healthy and nutritious diet. Drinking freshly made vegetable and fruit juices give your body the necessary vitamins and minerals for you to be healthy again.

The high percentage of obese people in a country is a very strong sign that there is something terribly wrong with our eating habits. Yes, we could just protest in the street and ask to shut down all the fast food chains which claim to sell food while in actual fact are only selling junk. Some people may say – yes but we love junk! Sure and you are responsible for what you put inside your body. However, we are exposed to junk food from a very young age and we get used to it. To be completely honest: we get addicted to it. Sugar and chemicals perfectly blended to ensure that our appetite for that particular item would never cease. That’s how you become a junk food junkie without even knowing it.

Simply by cooking. You can shout and scream that you want healthier food and blame the authority for that but in the end, you are solely responsible for what ends up in your stomach. Yes, we have created a culture of poison and junk but we are still in time to change. It’s never too late to change lifestyle. Just as when you quit smoking, drinking, medications or drugs, giving up junk food will cause your body to experience withdrawal symptoms and that’s ok because it’s part of the healing process. Once your body starts detoxifying and eliminating all the nasty substances which have been accumulating in our bodies for years, you will feel sick, exhausted, you may get pimples or skin rashes but that’s no going to last long before you start getting your energy and self esteem back.

Some people are convinced that eating well means eating a salad and a fruit. Wrong! There are billions of recipes available online about plant based nutrition. Today for instance, I’m cooking a fresh sauce made with potatoes, capsicums, garlic, chili, tomatoes, mushrooms and coriander to put on my plate of spaghetti. Yep, I can eat pasta. Once you start eating a healthy and nutritious diet you can also afford to have foods which are frowned upon by strict dieticians unless, of course, you have a particular disease (e.g.: diabetes) which will not allow you to have that particular item. Believe me, when you start cooking everything tastes delicious and your self esteem will boost up!

Here’s the final result of my spaghetti dish:

I also added a bit of Japanese naturally brewed soy sauce, crashed peanuts and extra virgin olive oil. Yummy!

So what are you doing still here? Go get yourself some nice pots and start cooking right now!

The Rise of Collective Awareness

The Rise of Collective Awareness

Time to ascend, get ready!

I see it everywhere, deforesting and building, deforesting and building. One day those people will kill themselves because they are investing all their time and energy in something which is not supposed to last.  I wish I could help them but they don’t want to hear anything except how to make more money. Don’t waste your time and energy trying to save others. They are just not ready, let them be!

Save Yourself

Every religion points out that greed and selfishness are counterproductive. However, religions are packed with metaphors and controversial messages  so in the end, who can you trust?

Trust Yourself

Each one of us is unique and has a particular purpose in this sphere of existence thus, the attempt to standardize humanity has only contributed to create more mental illnesses than ever. For every discomfort there is a name and that’s our way of dealing with the unknown. It is too scary to unravel the truth about ourselves but it’s time to do it.

Be Brave

In this new era of ascension, you will be asked to get rid of the things you no longer need. That means not just your material possessions but your unhealthy habits as well. Drinking, smoking, taking drugs and eating junk are the first habits we must get rid of to prepare ourselves for a healthier and happier life. People will make fun of you or think that you have gone completely insane: ignore them.

Don’t Worry About  What Other People Think

The only way to awaken your intuition and will power is to reset yourself completely. Forget who you are or better, who you think you are and start from zero just like a child would. Have no expectations, open your heart and be good and generous to all, including yourself.

Be Creative

Start doing the things which give you joy and abandon those which drain your energy. Don’t do anything against your will, no matter what. If you enjoy playing football then play football without feeling guilty. Draw, paint, write, make a vegetable garden, ride your bicycle, go for a walk, play with your pets… Do whatever gives you joy. Become joy itself.

Be Aware

Notice while you change  how your environment changes with you. Your environment is a reflection of yourself. Don’t have empty desires, just act upon your intuition immediately without postponing. If you think that you’d like to paint a fence then do it don’t just think about it. No thought is coincidental. If you catch yourself thinking negative thoughts just breathe, relax and try to understand what’s giving you pain.

The Development of Collective Consciousness

The more you attune with yourself and the more you can attune with others. You may think about music for a while and then meet a group of musician who will become your new friends. Trust your intuition and your intuition will trust you. Sometimes you may feel other’s people thoughts and that’s ok: it’s all part of the ascending process.

Be Ready to Be Born Again

Nothing religious about it. As your old self dies – this can be a very painful process for some as it may involve  relationship break ups, losing a job, being diagnosed with a terminally ill condition or becoming homeless -. It won’t last long but it’s a cathartic experience to understand who we really are and awake us from our illusionary world. No matter what your challenge is, deal with it. Don’t let depression or negativity take over because everything is going to be ok.

Failure Doesn’t Exist

It’s not easy to accomplish whatever it is that we want to accomplish so never let a disappointment ruin your life. Everything happens for a reason. Everything is a lesson and an opportunity for further growth.

Be Faithful

Don’t Get Angry Anymore

Detach yourself from the mass media and the news that normally portrait only disasters and negativity. That’s no longer your reality. Become the happiness you want to see and share it with others.

There Are no Others

This is difficult to grasp but each one of us is here to help others. People who you may think are mistreating you are just giving you an extra push to help you move forward. Don’t hate them and try to see the bigger picture. We are all connected!

Stay Focused

Whether you are peeling a tomato or writing your PhD thesis, put your attention on what you are doing and do not allow your thoughts to wonder. Every action is important. Do everything mindfully. Multitasking is a very destructive and dangerous activity.

Everything is a Miracle

See the beauty in flowers, dogs, cats, your spouse, your children, the sky, the colors, the delicious food. Never take anything for granted and be grateful that you have the extraordinary opportunity to experience all this: right here, right in front of your eyes.

Bless You All!

Falling in love at the wrong time in the wrong place

Falling in love at the wrong time in the wrong place

The crucifixion of romance

A couple of years ago I went to Myanmar to attend a meditation course in a secluded area in the forest, North East of Mandalay. The monastery was really beautiful and the monks and nuns there truly warm hearted.  I had been looking forward to this experience as I was desperately trying to find some answers to what had been happening to me. Ever since I started doing yoga and meditation, I began having clear visions of people and places I have never met in my life, sometimes I even heard conversations but not with my physical ears. I was desperate for answers. Who am I, what am I doing here? What’s happening to me?

I was given a very comfortable room with bathroom in an area where even electricity is considered a luxury. The food was excellent and suitable for my vegan requirements; I had coincidentally chosen the best monastery I could possibly find.

It took me at least a few days to get used to the meditation routine as I was also not feeling well because of a terrible cough.

After a few days, while I was just about to step into the meditation hall, I heard the echo of the voice of a friend telling me – you are going to meet the love of your life in Asia –. She said  that just before I left Italy in 2014 and I remember thinking that that was completely out of the question. I had had enough of relationships and the idea of having to deal with another human again made me sick.

I don’t really know how it happened but gradually, I started noticing the kindness of one of the nuns there. She was very beautiful as well but that was not the reason why  I fell in love with her. I fell in love with her mainly because of her kindness: she was the incarnation of Buddha’s qualities.

Day after day, my feelings for her grew stronger and stronger until the point where I couldn’t meditate anymore; all I could see was her. If I closed my eyes, there she was, right next to me. I also tried to find every excuse possible to go and see her, I desperately wanted to be with her, I wanted to stare at her beautiful warm eyes one more time and I just couldn’t get enough. As an Italian woman, I’m really hot blooded and I’m not very good at concealing my feelings, I’m pretty sure the entire monastery knew how I felt. I even caught myself planning about how to lure her into my room at night… That was enough, I thought, I had started to think like a thief, my attraction for her was unbearable I had to leave as soon as possible.

After leaving the monastery, I found the courage to write an email to her where I confessed my love for her with all the colorful details about my  sexual dreams and fantasies. I had never done that before in my life but somehow I felt I could be completely honest with her, I thought she could read my mind easily and I wasn’t telling anything new. But I was wrong: so wrong! She replied to me almost a month later by telling me that I fell in love with her Buddha’s qualities and that was it.

Yet my gadar (gay radar), was beeping loudly every single time we approached each other. I’m sure there was no mistake about what I felt but I didn’t consider that for a nun, falling in love with another woman meant giving up her vows and changing her lifestyle completely. As a passionate Latin woman, turning my reality upside down in the name of love is common routine but I still have no idea what it meant for her, apart that homosexuality is not easily accepted in religious premises though wildly practiced…

I left, my heart exploding with pain, my heartbeat pounding in my throat, I couldn’t speak I was so brokenhearted. I wanted to say something to her but I couldn’t utter a single word, I was afraid I was going to burst into tears at any moment so I left without even looking at her. I was staring at my feet. I boarded the boat by the river with two other guys whom I didn’t even know, yet the pain was so profound that I wanted to hug one of them and cry my heart out in his arms.  Why did I leave? It was unbearable to see you there and pretend that nothing was happening and it had been even more painful leaving you behind but I had no choice. That was the crucifixion of romance!

I have been thinking about you for all this time; I’ve been praying my Goddess not to let me suffer like this again. I thought it was a test to learn the meaning of attachment but I learned something else instead. We are human beings and human beings fall in love, it doesn’t matter how much you want to prevent yourself from falling in love; it’s bound to happen, it’s part of our experience as incarnated humans in this reality.

I respect those who decide to practice celibacy for a higher purpose but I do not believe that celibacy is a requirement for the evolution of the soul. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be here but incarnated somewhere else without genitals and the feeling of needing one other.

Of course, love can be platonic (sexless) but denying its existence is truly harmful. We are what we are, end of the story.

It’s been two years now and I’m still thinking about you. I found your FB account and I wrote you a message. You didn’t reply. I don’t know what to think but it’s obvious that you don’t want to hear from me ever again in your life and so be it. I wish you had told me the truth no matter how painful because being ignored is the worst thing you can do to a person.

By the way, the kitten in the photo is Pippi, he loves me unconditionally.

I wish you good luck or chok dee as they say in your country

The Harmony of a Balanced Life

The Harmony of a Balanced Life

A brave new world starts from you; no one else but you. Are you ready for the challenge?

The more you document yourself about nutrition and the more you discover that the secret of real health lays in your own hands. While in Thailand, I met a doctor who happens to be a Buddhist monk as well, known as Doctor MorKeaw (Green). My Thai friends convinced me to attend one of his numerous workshops and though it was entirely in the Thai language, I could grasp some of its meaning because there were numerous exercises and slides to accompany his presentation. In addition, at the end of the workshop, one of his assistants came to me to translate what were considered the salient points of the workshop. Basically, he was telling people to become their own doctor by taking responsibility about their lifestyle. Doctor Morkeaw is an incredibly humble man who lives a very humble life in accordance to Dhamma (Dharma) teachings, he has authored numerous books and videos on Buddhist Traditional medicine. Some of the exercises can be found in yoga and other disciplines and include practices to detoxify your body. Dr Morkeaw is a strong supporter of a vegan diet as food plays a fundamental role in our life.

I have always been interested in holistic practices and traditional medicine so, quite apart from studying a lot of books written by doctors and researchers in this field, I also had the opportunity to test traditional medicine on my own self. In particular, Chinese Traditional Medicine – which I find highly effective, Tibetan Medicine – also very effective and Ayurvedic Medicine – which in my case was not as effective as the previous ones though largely based on the same principles.

However, after having experienced the extraordinary efficacy of the above mentioned traditional medicine methods, I came to the conclusion that I was the only person to be held solely responsible for my own health. The body is not a car that you take to the mechanic when it breaks down though we behave as if it were. Everything you do has a consequence: drinking, smoking, and other deleterious behaviors cannot bring different results. The chemicals in our food, water and air also take a toll on our body so it is up to us to change lifestyle to preserve the environment and ensure a future for us as well as future generations.

Nowadays, I don’t even take holistic medicines anymore and I have started to follow the natural way or what some people call it, natural hygiene. So far so good but one thing is certain, the more you get in touch with your body and its needs and the more you get to trust yourself deeper and deeper. I belong to a generation of people who was born before the digital age so when we were young, we were led to believe that only the “elite” held the key to access knowledge. Thank Goddess that has changed and if you don’t believe me just google it!

Vegan because taste matters!

Vegan because taste matters!

Of course, I’m vegan for ethical reasons but that doesn’t mean that I don’t appreciate delicious food.

As a matter of fact, becoming vegan has turned a lot of people into improvised chefs. In my case, I have been enjoying cooking ever since I can remember but becoming vegan has given me the opportunity to explore new palatable frontiers. Naturally, not all my experiments have been a success but the failures are a natural step towards greater achievements.

There are different types of vegans on this planet. Some are concerned with the environment and the welfare of the Creatures who inhabit Mother Earth, others just want to have a healthier lifestyle and look fit. Whatever the reason, the fact is that eating is one of the pleasures of our existence and turning vegan should not deprive people of such divine delight.

There is also junk vegan food which has been labeled as such because though it lacks of animal products, it does contain a lot of other ingredients which are known to be harmful for our health. Fried vegan chicken for instance or gluten based meat products are definitely off the list if you are trying to eat healthily.

Today, I’ve cooked a fantastic brunch for myself: brown rice, sauteed bean sprouts, green and red capsicum with saute’ fresh tofu and  bitter gourd with garlic.

I try to use as little oil as possible and I also use good quality soy sauce to garnish my dishes.

I had a great time and even  Pippi was tempted to have a bite of such delicious vegan food!

This is Pippi:

My doctor is a vegetable

My doctor is a vegetable

It takes a lot of courage to heal ourselves despite what the doctors have told us. Some of us do not want to take drugs for the rest of our existence so what is the alternative?

Change or die

Throughout my experience struggling with my health and well being, I have come to the conclusion that I am the only one in charge of my own health. The Western approach to illness, whether physical or mental, is to prescribe a quick fix – that’s probably because when we don’t feel well we immediately want to be healthy again without understanding that illness is just an alarm telling us that there is something which urgently needs our attention.

Every disease is a blessing in disguise

Step out of your comfort zone

Of course, it’s much easier to pop a pill and forget about the pain but believe me, numbing down the pain, whether physical or emotional, it’s not going to solve anything, as a matter of fact, it’s very likely to make the situation worse.

Getting high to forget about the pain may also give you the illusion of an instant relief from the discomfort but in actual fact, you are just adding fuel to a fire. The only way to extinguish a fire is with the opposite element: water!

As human beings, we get used to almost anything until certain patterns become established habits. Now, while forming a habit may be relatively easy, getting rid of it may require a huge amount of will power, especially if you are dealing with highly addictive substances such as drugs, alcohol and nicotine.

However, if you really want to make the first step towards a thousand mile journey, start by getting rid of your addictions, one at the time.

In my case, I decided to quit smoking and go vegan without transitioning to a vegetarian diet first. Actually, being vegan helps your body cleanse yourself more quickly and you become more sensitive to chemicals (nicotine included). However, alcohol and coffee are triggers to nicotine so if you can, you should also try to avoid drinking alcohol and coffee but as I said earlier, one step at the time. Don’t be to harsh on yourself, if you relapse then you just need to try everything again from step one. Love yourself don’t judge yourself.

The Healing crisis

The healing crisis may last for years so don’t listen to those people who say you’ll be alright in a few months – that’s simply no possible. As it took you a very long time to develop a chronic condition, it will also take you a long time to heal – there are no shortcuts unless you meet Jesus in a good mood!

One step at the time

Learn to put yourself first, your healing process must be priority number one for you no matter what. Don’t work as hard, learn to nurture and cuddle yourself, if possible, learn to meditate or Taichi or Yoga if you prefer. Basically, teach yourself how to slow down: life was never meant to be a race.

You were born to be happy and healthy

Don’t worry about what other people think, take care of yourself and if the people around you cannot understand what you are doing do not attempt to explain, just let them go – they are not ready to hear it.

Drink plenty of water

Water is the base element of the human body (70%). Make sure to drink plenty of water every day and avoid any other drink unless it is freshly made vegetable or fruit juice. Stay away from canned or preserved products. Do everything yourself!

You are not dying

Sometimes the healing crisis is so strong that you may think that you won’t be able to make it but you will. Have faith and if you believe in it, pray!

Do only what is pleasant

Forget your culture of good manners, if something is too much for you to handle don’t do it. You were not born to please others especially when you are ill, if they love you they will understand.

Rest plenty

A good method to fall asleep without any chemical help is the use of pranayama (breathing meditation), there are different methods available which you can easily find online for free.

Forget the past

The best way to start anew is to get rid of the past by creating a new you. What were the activities that you really enjoyed doing when you were a child? Be a child again; spontaneous and curious. Try to distance yourself from negative people and surround yourself with positive energy such as Nature, animals and friendly people. Teach yourself something new to keep yourself focused and stimulated.

Healing Time

You do your part and Mother Nature will do the rest. Don’t put pressure on yourself and let Nature do what’s necessary . One day you will be completely healed before you know it.

Be Grateful

Some of us didn’t make it. Some of us were too tired or too sick to undergo this process. My dedication is to them, departed and beloved angels, in the hope that they will be a light for those of us who are still here struggling to evolve. Be grateful for the food in your plate, for your kids and animals, for the air and the plants, for life itself: be grateful!
